A New Chapter Requires a Clean Foundation
You can’t build a healthier work life on top of the same exhaustion, reactive patterns, and unprocessed stress.

After more than 30 years in leadership, I’ve learned that burnout doesn’t come from ambition — it comes from misalignment. When your calendar, energy, and priorities are out of sync, even meaningful work becomes draining.
As I look toward 2026, I’m focused on structural habits — not motivational promises. Leaders who want longevity must design their days intentionally.
Here are six habits that changed how I lead, think, and sustain performance:
1) Protect the first 90 minutes of your day.
Start with intention — not inboxes.
2) Commit to one daily focus block.
Depth always outperforms chaos.
3) Plan tomorrow before today ends.
Clarity reduces cognitive load.
4) Align your calendar with your energy.
Your schedule should support you — not exhaust you.
5) Create a shutdown ritual.
Your nervous system needs closure.
6) Stop equating availability with leadership.
Discernment is the real executive skill.

A new chapter requires a clean foundation.
And leaders who want sustainable success must stop operating in survival mode — and start leading with intention. <./h3>
